Kapok Press LLC is dedicated to producing easy, fun and rewarding educational materials
for the beginning pianist. We support every child's musical success and promote the joy
and satisfaction of learning new skills through music.
Christine Bemko Kril is a pianist and teacher with over 25 years
experience. She developed the
I Can Do It! Piano Book, First Book of Favorite Songs as a fun and easy introduction to piano for her beginner students and to
encourage all beginners to enjoy this wonderful instrument.
Christine has her degree in Music in Performance and Composition from Rutgers University/Livingston College. She is a Certified Teacher of Music in Piano through the Music Teachers National Association, and has Teacher Certification through the American College of Musicians. She has taught piano privately and at various Montessori schools, and is the founder of Kailua School of Music (now Kailua Music) in Kailua, Hawaii.
She currently teaches piano at her Fredericksburg Piano Studio
in Virginia, where she lives with her family. She is a member of the Virginia Music Teachers
Association and the Rappahanock Music Society, and hold regular 'Playshops' for budding musicians.
Patrica Carmody, artist, is the painter of the beautiful water color illustrations for the I Can Do It! Piano Book, First Book of Favorite Songs. Browse our gallery of illustrations that are available as prints to decorate your child's nursery, bedroom or playroom.
Involved in art from early childhood, Patty honed her skills at the University of Minnesota
with a degree in Fine Arts, with a specialty in Printmaking and Drawing. She recently moved her art studio to California, where she works in the mediums of watercolor, acrylics and drawing. She also works as an Occupational Therapist. Patty has enjoyed playing the piano since her childhood, and it was the mutual love of piano and music that brought her and Christine together to collaborate on their first book. |
